Responsibilities Of Speech Language Pathologist or CFY

  • Responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Work closely with patients of all ages in various settings, including hospitals and pediatric clinics.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results
  • Provide therapy sessions to improve communication skills, including speech articulation, language comprehension and expression, voice quality, fluency, and pragmatics
  • Administer standardized tests and assessments to monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care for patients
  • Educate patients and their families on strategies for improving communication and swallowing abilities
  • Document patient progress accurately and maintain detailed records
  • Requirements Of Speech Language Pathologist or CFY

  • Minimum of a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a FL Speech Language Pathologist
  • Experience in acute care settings is preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, case management, and patient care practices
  • Familiarity with geriatric speech therapy techniques and interventions
  • Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology related to speech, language, and swallowing disorders
  • Proficient in conducting patient assessments and developing individualized treatment plans
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and their families
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
