NG Companies is seeking Hydrovac Operators for an exciting new project in El Paso, TX. The job is expected to start at the end of September 2025.
The Hydrovac Operator will be responsible for operating a hydrovac truck and equipment to excavate underground utility lines, pipelines, and other structures. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating hydrovac trucks and knowledge of safety regulations.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work : Typical construction hours required, with some weeks being less than 40 hours and other weeks requiring 50+ hours; must be willing to work flexible hours, to include occasional nights and weekends
Travel : Must be willing to travel for short periods of time as needed
Work Environment (temperature, noise level, inside / outside) :
- Must be able to work in all outdoor elements for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions and noisy environments
Physical Demands :
Be able to work extended hours and variable shiftsBe able to wear all required PPEBe able to climb ladders and work from stationary platforms from elevated heightsConfined Space Entry may be required to accomplish tasks for some clientsMust be able to repeatedly lift a minimum of 50 poundsEssential Functions :
Drive to assigned job sites to excavate, load, dig, break rocks or debris, dirt, or other materialsOperate hydrovac equipment to excavate underground utility lines, pipelines, and other structuresOperate NG Company equipment in a safe and professional mannerProperly, clearly, promptly, and legibly complete all local, state, federal, company, and customer paperwork required by law and / or established Company policies.Maintain hydrovac truck and equipment to ensure they are in good working conditionAssist in all cleaning operations to ensure the hydrovac operates at maximum capacityMonitor and maintain water levels in the hydrovac tankEnsure compliance with safety regulations and proceduresCommunicate with team members to ensure efficient operationsPerform pre- and post-trip inspections on the hydrovac truck and equipmentTroubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctionsComplete job site documentation and paperwork accurately and timelyMaintain a clean and organized job siteCleaning, vacuuming, mobilization, and maintenance of equipmentAttend training sessions and safety meetings as neededPerform other duties as assigned by managementRequirements :
Class B CDL required with Airbrake and Tanker EndorsementPass a pre-employment physicalPass a criminal background check and safety performance verificationPass a pre-employment drug screenCompetency (KSAs) :
Able to lead and direct a team to perform duties in a safe and timely mannerMust be able to drive and operate all Hydrovac functionsKnowledge of and comply with DOT RegulationsAbility to troubleshoot and, as needed, perform minor repairs to equipmentAbility to read and interpret maps, instructions, and work ordersExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to work in a team environmentMust possess and exhibit a strong safety acumenPreferred Education & Experience :
Underground utility and / or construction experience12 months of Heavy Equipment Operation experiencePrevious hydrovac, trucking, vacuum truck or other related industrial experienceBenefits :
