Summary :
The Fuel Supply Analyst at PetroCard is responsible for driving key analytical functions that include demand forecasting, supply cost optimization, supply contract compliance, pricing strategy and analysis, sales support, and inventory optimization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fuel products, markets, and logistics, with the ability to turn data into ac recommendations. This high-profile position will report directly to the Director of Supply & Distribution. This is an in-office position that can be located in one of our three regional offices : Kent WA, Aberdeen WA or Salem OR.
Key Responsibilities :
Supply & Transportation Cost Optimization
- Manage compliance with fuel supply contracts, pursue daily supply opportunities, and maintain current knowledge of regional supply and cost dynamics.
- Develop and maintain “best buy” tools to optimize supply costs and allocations.
- Proactively manage supply, distribution terminal, and transportation constraints.
- Conduct market analysis and identify opportunities for daily supply and transportation cost improvements and improvements in negotiated contracts.
Pricing Management & Analysis
Monitor and analyze market price indices (e.g., Platts, OPIS, Argus) to support daily and weekly pricing decisions.Conduct margin analysis and identify opportunities for pricing optimization.Design and maintain pricing models and tools to ensure accuracy and consistency.Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting for management and cross-functional teams.Drive continuous improvement initiatives in pricing processes and systems.Inventory Optimization & Product Availability
Track inventory levels across terminals, storage tanks, and transportation assets to mitigate market exposure and risk.Analyze inventory turnover, stockouts, and replenishment cycles to improve product availability.Support the implementation of tools and models for inventory planning and safety stock optimization.Sales & Operations Support
Provide real-time data and analysis to support sales efforts, including pricing recommendations and product availability updates.Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to ensure timely delivery and fulfillment of customer orders.Assist with the preparation, submission, and evaluation of fuel bids and tenders, ensuring competitive and compliant pricing proposals.Reporting & Performance Monitoring
Develop dashboards and KPI reports related to supply performance, pricing trends, inventory health, and demand accuracy.Identify patterns and insights from large datasets to support continuous improvement efforts in supply chain planning.Prepare reports and presentations to support internal decision-making and customer discussions.Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Economics, Business Analytics, Finance (with focus on energy or commodities), Data Science / Data Analytics, Operations Research / Industrial Engineering or a related field.A minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant industry or analytical role is required.
