  • Schedule : Part Time, flexible 8 hour shifts 4 days a week, 1 evening shift per week, and 1 Saturday per month
  • Hospital : Ascension Saint Alexius
  • Location : Hoffman Estates, IL
  • Salary : $37.15 - $52.44 per hour

This role will function as the OP RN Diabetes Educator and ADA Program Coordinator at Ascension Saint Alexius

Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities planning for an assigned service or population.

  • Collaborate with nurse managers and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate educational plans / programs and utilizes methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.
  • Serve as a resource for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.
  • Participate in the coordination and continuity of orientation programs, including preceptor programs.
  • Requirements

    Licensure / Certification / Registration :

  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job
  • transfer date required.

  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Educator specializing in Diabetes Management credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
  • Education :

  • Diploma from an accredited school / college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of
  • hire.

    Additional Preferences

  • Registered Nurse with CDCES (Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist)
  • Outpatient RN experience strongly preferred
  • Must be organized and willing to learn requirements to maintain ADA recognition for two sites
  • RN with experience in group setting and individual counseling
  • Communicates effectively
