Director of Operations

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic individual for the Director of Operations position based in Bridgeport, CT. This role involves providing leadership to the plant operations team to ensure safe and efficient operation of generating equipment under the direction of the General Manager. The Director will oversee daily operations, maintain safety standards, develop procedures, track performance, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Direct and oversee Shift Supervisors and operations personnel, review and improve processes, develop action plans, investigate abnormalities, prepare reports, recruit and train employees, budgeting, and provide input on maintenance.

Establish goals, support safety programs, coordinate training activities, ensure best practices are followed, and act as the primary contact with market operators for production issues.

Additional Requirements

Valid driver's license, ability for occasional travel, physical ability to move around plant facilities, work in an office environment, and operate a computer.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred, at least 10 years of power plant experience, 5 years of supervisory experience, and knowledge of GADs reporting, Microsoft Office tools, and Maximo CMMS software.

Physical Requirements

Standing for extended periods, climbing stairs and ladders, occasional lifting, wearing protective equipment, working in varied conditions, extended hours, and participating in Fitness for Duty Program.
