IT Security Specialist for Wastewater Construction General Contractor

As an  IT Security Specialist  in  North Kansas City, MO  you will maintain, monitor, and implement technology infrastructure security. You will be responsible for developing, enforcing, assessing, and documenting security controls to protect Company's employees, data, and systems. The IT security specialist will work towards producing and fulfilling the company’s strategic goals.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Create and maintain documentation of security guidelines, policies, procedures, and controls
• Protect Company’s systems and data from both internal and external threats by implementing broad defenses to prevent unauthorized access or changes
• Monitor system and network events for unusual or malicious activity
• Work with the IT team, internal functional areas, and external partners to develop and implement new protocols and layers of protection to bolster cybersecurity defenses
• Research and understand cybersecurity tools and software.
• Help develop security awareness training for employees related to the latest tactics used to compromise organizations
• Frequently assess and audit systems to identify potential vulnerabilities
• Understands cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CMMC, CIS Controls, PCI-DSS, etc.) and can effectively implement these controls in an enterprise environment
• Stay up to date on the latest security trends and tactics leveraged by cybercriminals
