Job Purpose
The Film Producer / Editor will be responsible for capturing and editing video content that aligns with the vision and values of Journey Church, helping to communicate powerful messages and stories to our congregation and online audience. The ideal candidate will have technical skills in video editing and cinematography, a strong understanding of storytelling, and a heart for serving the church and spreading the Gospel through visual media. This role is approximately 80% editing and will report to the Films Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and edit film projects, as assigned by the Films Coordinator, while maintaining the voice of the church
- Brainstorm, direct, and execute lighting, composition, and audio for Journey Films productions to create unique and compelling content
- Create video content and resources for other Journey Church ministries
- Bring fresh and creative ideas to enhance film production and explore new avenues of creative storytelling
- Stay updated on upcoming trends and new technologies in film production, while confidently executing technical aspects on set, including handling cameras, rigging lighting, and assisting with set creation
- Demonstrate creative decision-making, problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, and multitasking abilities on-set and in the office
- Assist with setup, teardown, and filming of all life change stories and major creative productions
- Direct and coordinate talent accordingly during A-roll and B-roll film capture
- Ensure film capture of all Journey events, as assigned by the Films Coordinator
- Assist with equipment logistics for mission trips and other off-location projects
- Collaborate with the Films Coordinator to create promotional materials for holidays and special events
- Demonstrate a proactive approach by taking initiative, displaying self-motivation, and actively contributing to projects that further God\'s Kingdom and the mission and goals of Journey Church
- Uphold a commitment to excellence by consistently delivering quality work, maintaining high standards in all tasks, and striving for continuous improvement
- Cultivate connections with volunteers, fostering healthy and invested relationships
- Provide constructive feedback to other Films Team members on their projects to enhance overall quality and alignment with the mission of the church
- Conceptualize, write, edit, and produce scripts as needed
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on time

SameQualifications | Experience
Three (3) years or more experience in video production (shooting and editing)Proficient in Adobe Premiere, etc.Understanding of cinematography in various film settingsOn-set videos experienceExcellent verbal and interpersonal skillsRelational and team-building skills requiredSpiritual Attributes
