Welder - 1st Shift

About the Opportunity :

• Job Title : Welder
• Pay Rate Range : $25.00-$31.00 / Hour
• Location : Bloomington, MN
• Schedule : 1st Shift Monday-Thursday 5AM-3 : 30PM, Overtime Required
• Position Type : Temp to Hire

Requirements and Qualifications :

1. Knowledge of and ability to efficiently use ERP systems.

2. Ability to be certified in American Welding Society – AWS certification [not all customers require certification] and MIG Certs (D1.1 and D1.3) within two months of hire.

Minimum requirements for Welder – Level 1 :

3. High school diploma or general education degree [GED].

4. 1 year of vocational training or 1 year of relevant work experience.

Lead Requirements :

5. Minimum 3 years' experience in :

6. MIG, TIG, and Finishing welding.

7. Ability to prioritize and assign work to other welders.

8. Demonstrated experience in process and personnel improvement activities.

Physical & Lifting Requirements :

9. Frequent and Sustained Walking-Frequently

10. Bending-Frequently

11. Stooping / Squatting Occasionally

12. Frequent and extensive use of hands and arms-Frequently

13. Lift / Carry up to 50 lbs.-Occasionally.

14. Pushing / Pulling up to 50lbs – Occasionally.

15. Reach at or above shoulders – Occasionally.

16. Reach at or below shoulders – Occasionally.

17. Sitting Occasionally

18. Exposure to moving mechanical parts.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Welder - Level I :

1. Ability to MIG or TIG weld, flat and horizontal position

2. Ability to load and unload a robotic welder.

3. Read and understand part drawing and engineering prints.

4. Use current Manufacturing software accurately (Epicor)

5. Follows start of JOB and SHIFT inspections

6. Follows in process inspection requirements and documents to policy and procedures.

7. Operate forklift, crane and other material handling operations as required.

8. Consistently exhibits all desired company behaviors and follows company policies, including 5S, Safety and Continuous Improvement.

9. Complete MECR forms [Manufacturing / Engineering Change Request] for standard verification

10. Working knowledge of sheet metal and weld characteristics [penetration, welding settings, etc.]

11. Ensure the overall cleanliness and safety of the immediate work area, as well as surrounding areas.

12. Always provide outstanding internal and external communications..

13. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others to understand, conceptualize, collaborate, and execute work assignments.

14. Ability to adhere to ISO standards.

15. Perform secondary welding / grinding as required.

16. Ability to sustain a solid level or better performance by meeting productivity and efficiency standards.

17. Ability to work overtime as needed.

18. Regular, reliable, and consistent attendance

19. Additional duties as assigned.

Welder - Level II

20. All of Level I essential duties and responsibilities

21. MIG and TIG weld in all positions

22. Set up MIG / TIG Weld

23. Ability to obtain all Tig Certifications (D1.2 and D1.6)

Welder - Level III

24. All of Levels I and II essential duties and responsibilities

25. Performing at a rating of exceeding for all key responsibilities of a Level 2 [safety, quality, productivity, efficiencies, etc.]

26. Program and perform preventative maintenance on the robots.

27. Set up robots [change fixtures, load programs]

28. Make minor robot program adjustments.

29. Train others for Level I and II essential duties and responsibilities
