In this role, you will :

Lead and mentor a team of highly skilled engineers in building scalable, robust AI-forward experiences

Drive technical strategy and execution for core services that enable natural language shopping interactions

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Applied Scientists, Technical Product Managers, and Economists to push the boundaries of what's possible with generative AI

Build and scale infrastructure that allows partner teams to seamlessly integrate with Rufus's conversational capabilities

Key job responsibilities

As a Software Development Manager, you will define and drive the technical strategy for building Search experiences, leading a team of engineers to innovate at scale. You will collaborate across science, product, and design teams to deliver next-generation solutions that enhance shopping journeys for millions of customers.

A day in the life

• Thinking big and collaborating with product leadership and business stakeholders.
• Owning the end-to-end technical strategy and delivery roadmap.
• Defining initiative goals and owning all associated metrics, using data to drive decisions.
• Architecting scalable, resilient AI-driven systems that can adapt across multiple product categories and shopping missions.
• Leading and mentoring a team of engineers and applied scientists, building a culture of high technical standards, innovation, and ownership.
• Reporting regularly on development progress, quality, operations, and system performance to senior leadership.
• Maintaining a relentless focus on operational excellence, system reliability, and rapid iteration to meet customer needs.
