NJFC operates three production facilities : Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Manager who will provide leadership to the Northwes Packing plant’s Quality Assurance and Sanitation functions, ensure compliance of the plant’s Food Safety programs, manage the Quality Assurance team, and be a leader in continuous improvement initiatives for a fresh fruit cannery and juice concentrate plant. The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the Quality Assurance and Food Safety of all products through administration of HACCP, Sanitation, Pest Control Management and other programs that ensure compliance with government laws and regulations and is directly responsible for monitoring the quality of the manufacturing process from incoming to finished product shipment, ensuring formulations and quality standards are adhered to, adequate sanitation standards are maintained at all times and packaging requirements match industry standards as well as ensuring that documentation of these activities is maintained. This includes working with internal management, customers, suppliers, corporate personnel, and manufacturing staff. Responsibilities include auditing of Quality systems such as, SQF policies and programs, the Food Safety Plans, GMPs, and SOP’s for plant Quality department. Responsible for communication of food quality standards to plant personnel through training, corrective actions, quality audits, production and facility monitoring. This is an exempt, non-union position.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Oversees the implementation and maintenance of the Food Safety policies and processes including HACCP, GMPs, SOPs and prerequisite programs.
  • Prepares and leads the facility in preparation for internal and external audits including SQF, GMP, HACCP, Food Safety and Food Security.
  • Oversees compliance and direction for the plant to meet regulatory requirements pertaining to FSMA (including FSVP and PCHF and becoming the plant PCQI).
  • Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy for finished products.
  • Responsible for communication of food quality standards to plant personnel through training, corrective actions, quality audits, production and facility monitoring.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality Management, technical, or related field. Advanced degree desirable.
  • SQF, HACCP and PCQI certifications preferred.
  • Experience in the application and implementation of HACCP / PCHF / TQM / SQF and PCQI and SQF or any GFSI system training preferred.
  • 5 years’ experience in progressive Quality Assurance Management in a food manufacturing business
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check and credit screen.
  • Compensation :

    The salary range is $100,000 - $120,000, based on experience and qualifications.
