Field Technology Specialist

A leading communications solution provider based in Berks County and servicing the South East PA market and beyond is searching for a Field Technology Specialist . By providing unique wireless communications solution to customers you will be part of drive industry specific communications solutions to a wide variety of companies.

POSITION SUMMARY :

Responsible for providing onsite technical services in a variety of dynamic environments including but not limited to :

Major corporation headquarters

P25 network locations

Transmitter sites

9-1-1 centers

Hospitals schools factories warehouses manufacturing facilities vehicles outdoor environments rooftops and so much more

Services provided will range widely from and include things like :

P25 core technologies coaxial cabling data cabling 12 VDC wiring -48 VDC wiring battery systems antennae installations RF connectors RJ-style connectors wireless broadband equipment video surveillance equipment relay equipment racks cabinets grounding and more.

Communication collaboration and interface will happen with internal and external players at such levels as :

Executive Management Mid - Management Technicians Salespersons and customers.

Must be able and willing to travel possess a valid drivers license and able to pass government clearances along with a drug test.

We will are looking for familiarity with and train you to troubleshoot system-level equipment including but not limited to :

APCO Project 25 Networks (ASTRO ATLAS etc.)

Routers

Switches

Servers

Base Stations

Repeaters

Trunking Controllers

Dispatch Consoles

Microwave Stations

Channel Banks

Wireless Transport Technology

Video Surveillance Cameras

Radio Over IP (RoIP) Gateways

9-1-1 Call Taking Stations

Using products like :

Analog RF wattmeter

Digital RF wattmeter

Digital multi-meter

RF communications service monitor

Antenna tester / analyzer

Line level meter

T1 test set

Network Analyzer hardware & software

You must be able to read and comprehend wiring diagrams network diagrams basic schematics Bills of Material (BOM) and theory of operations.

Proficient with the following systems will be key :

Business Management System

Microsoft Windows 10

Microsoft Windows 11

Microsoft 365

Dropbox

OneDrive

Virtual Private Network (VPN) Clients & Servers

QUALIFICATIONS :

• High School Diploma;

2 to 5 years of education or related field installation experience

Understanding of the above technical concepts

Ability to problem solve

Adherence and attention to detail

Strong written and oral communication skills; Strong organizational skills; Ability to follow directions

Ability to work both in a team environment and independently

Outstanding customer service skills

Ability to pass a drug screening test

Consent to random drug screening tests as required by projects and contracts

Pass a criminal background check

Pass a drivers background check

Possession of a clean valid drivers license
