Job Status : Exempt

Job Summary :

Responsible for meeting the sales goals for A New Leaf, Inc. Social Enterprise. This person must be friendly and outgoing, helpful and professional demeanor when making sales and upselling, as well as setting a professional example for the clients to follow. Possesses strong selling and merchandising skills. Requires attention to detail, catering to the customer’s preferences.

The Sales Supervisor will expand sales to existing customers while creating new business. Duties include but are not limited to meeting monthly sales goals, attracting new business, supervising the Retail Garden Center staff, oversee special events, create attractive displays, assist with the tracking and maintaining of inventory, and representing the A New Leaf, Inc. brand with honor and integrity. The goal is to provide high-class customer service and to increase company's growth and revenue through sales maximization. Assists to ensure retail centers are fully stocked with seasonal inventory and ready for special events.

Essential Requirements :

1. Have and maintain a valid Oklahoma driver’s license. Have dependable vehicle at all times. Have and maintain automobile insurance coverage at all times. Maintain eligibility to operate agency vehicles.

2. Physical capacities must include professional appearance, and bending, stooping, and lifting a minimum of 50 pounds.

3. Work flexible schedule based on schedules of persons served by and needs of A New Leaf, including but not limited to working scheduled weekends to water and spray plants.

4. Follow policies and procedures of A New Leaf, Inc.

5. Ensures all individuals served are safe in their working environment and program participation at all times.

6. Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing, completing required documentation and reports.

7. Ability to work as a team and work with a flexibility mind set, to achieve a desired balance between social service and entrepreneurial missions.

Specific Responsibilities :

1. Supports the retail staff, job coaches and our clients in an appropriate manner. Help identify and resolve issues related to sales goals, materials, locations and quality standards of the work performed by the clients.

2. Creates new business through selling season products, Planting Bars, Poinsettias, Blooming Acres Shares, and other streams of revenue.

3. Create monthly sales plan to ensure sales goals are met.

4. Responsible for monitoring and reporting customer’s sales and reporting patterns to the Department Director and Horticulture Manager.

5. Identify current and future trends that appeal to consumers.

6. Assists with maintaining weekly, monthly, seasonal and annual sales reports. Tracking best sellers and product needs to communicate to the Department Director and Horticulture Manager.

7. Assists with keeping retail stores astatically merchandised, creating an inviting environment for customers as well as potential donors.

8. Monitor local competitors.

9. Responsible for organizing product and storage areas to achieve efficiency for back stock and supplies.

10. Assists in executing visual sign calendar for retail locations.

11. Attends all necessary license / certification, in-service training and conferences in order to maintain awareness of policies, procedures and current greenhouse regulations, along with supervision and training techniques.

12. Complies with recognized professional standards of ethical conduct and maintain quality services.

13. Supervise all retail locations and ensure they are properly staffed.

14. Other duties as assigned.

  • Maintain CPR / First Aid certification
  • Criminal arrest check will be done through the OSBI; Per Section 1025.1 et seq. Of Title 56 of the Oklahoma statues, House Bill 1790, any prospective employee with a felony or misdemeanor conviction, guilty plea or plea of nolo contendere will not be eligible for employment. This prohibition may be disregarded if an appropriate waiver is obtained from the Office of the Director, DDSD, Department of Human Services, or his / her designees.
  • Community Services Registry checks (House Bill 1790) will be done through DDSD, Department of Human Services. The person whose name appears on the registry cannot work for A New Leaf.
  • Employees and A New Leaf are engaged in an at-will employment relationship, meaning that either are free to terminate the relationship at any time with or without reason and with or without notice.

Qualifications :

  • Minimum age – 21 years old.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred and ability to successfully complete all training requirements.
  • Sales work experience required, marketing and merchandising work experience preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must possess intermediate math skills including the ability to calculate figures, amounts and percentages.
  • Positive attitude, strong customer service skills and an expressed desire to work with persons with developmental disabilities
  • Preference given to persons with previous Foundations and ETS training and / or experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities if meeting the educational requirement.
  • Physical ability to conduct training involving manual labor.
  • Final hiring pending on OSBI background check, clean driving record, Community Services Registry check, and pre-employment screening.
