Position Overview
A successful Parts Advisor will be highly organized, detail oriented, work well in a team environment and have a working knowledge of parts and mechanical maintenance. A top performer in this role will have direct experience with generator parts procurement and provide outstanding customer service to both the service department and over the counter customers.
Reporting Relationship : The Parts Advisor reports to the Generator Parts Manager.
Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Manage data analytics on parts stock values, market retail, freight cost, and restock to avoid unnecessary costs
- Perform physical inventory counts and ensure accuracy with inventory tracking software
- Monitor inventory and stock levels in main and service truck warehouses
- Receive parts stock and special-order parts in a timely manner
- Track all parts movement within warehouses
- Review work orders to identify service department part requirements
- Procure, ship or stage all parts required for assigned work orders
- Ship and track parts to remote technicians and customers ensuring on time delivery
- Quote parts for the service department repairs accurately and in a timely manner
- Identify and verify parts and equipment compatibility in accordance with applicable parts and service manuals
- Work with Parts Manager to source new suppliers to reduce costs and improve quality
