Description

JOB PURPOSE :

Produce construction projects in accordance with instructions from supervisor.

REPORTS TO :

  • Foreman / Superintendent

DUTIES :

  • Inspects repairs installs modifies rebuilds constructs and maintains woodwork and other related structures.

    • EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

    • PHYSICAL / MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Familiar with a variety of carpentry concepts practices and procedures within the carpentry field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Familiar with tools materials and supplies required to complete tasks.
  • Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
  • Directs and leads the work of others. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  • Requires standard communication skills (written / verbal / reading).
  • Able to lift and hold / move 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to solve advanced math principals to produce sufficient problem solving for carpentry.
  • Able to traverse ladders (up and down including extension ladder) scaffolding and roofs.
  • Must adhere to safety guidelines.
  • May be responsible for all pricing and ordering of materials.
  • Must be able to read plans and specs.

    QUALIFICATIONS :

    • LANGUAGE SKILLS :

  • Ability to read analyze and interpret advanced construction documents. Ability to respond to inquires or complaints from supervisors.

    • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :

  • Ability to work with advanced mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations.

    • REASONING ABILITY :

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.

    • OTHER SKILLS :

  • Advanced working knowledge and experience with project plans specifications construction industry standards and building codes. Experience using Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.
