Accountabilities
Supervisory / Management Responsibility
This is a non-management position reporting to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Must be a graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program or be eligible for licensure in South Carolina, or be a senior student graduating within the next three months.
Required Certifications / Registrations / Licenses
Must be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in South Carolina or be eligible for licensure in the state. BLS certification required. NBRC credentials must be maintained. Certified Respiratory Therapists may be employed if hired before June 2016. Newly hired individuals after June 2016 must pass the Therapist Multiple Choice Exam and the Clinical Simulation Exam within six months of graduation. Failure to pass may result in termination. NRP and PALS certification are required before independent work in the NICU and PICU.
Other Required Skills and Experience
Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
