California Premier Pain Clinics is looking for a part-time or full-time Medical Assistant to join our medical office.
- Candidates should have exceptional people and communication skills, be highly skilled in multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, a commitment to achieving a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and a no-task-too-small approach to the work.
- Knowledge of medical office procedures including surgery procedures and practices
- Knowledge of medical practice and care to assist in giving patient care
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment
- Skill in maintaining records and recording test results
- Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public
- Ability to maintain quality control standards including, but not limited to confidentiality
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Knowledge of interrelationship of surgery department with laboratory and radiology
- Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation to type patient information
- Skill in operating a computer, photocopy machine, fax and other office equipment
- Skill in answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely
- Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians, coworkers and the publicResponsibilities
- This position is responsible for assisting in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management
- May perform selected nursing and administrative duties, such as referrals and authorizations
- Prepare patients for examination and treatment
- Take patient vital signs
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies
- Give injections, apply splints and dressings
- Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization
- Assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries, physicals
- Screen telephone calls for referral to physician or provider
- Relay provider communications to patients by phone or mail
- Provide general information on departmental policies and
