Emergency Medicine Physician – Augusta VA Health Care System

Location

Augusta VA Health Care System

950 15th Street

Augusta, GA 30901

Pay and Schedule

  • $250 per hour
  • 10-hour shifts daily
  • Night shift starts between 9 PM and 12 AM
  • APP coverage : 1 shift on weekends / holidays, 2 shifts on weekdays

Assignment Overview

Provide emergency department physician services for Veterans at the Charlie Norwood VA Health Care System. Services must meet or exceed American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) standards.

Requirements

Profiles must include :

  • CV
  • ABEM Certification
  • Medical License (unrestricted, any U.S. state or territory)
  • DEA Certificate
  • NPI Number
  • AHA BLS
  • AHA ACLS

    • Qualifications

  • Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
  • Active, unrestricted license in the U.S.
  • Current BLS and ACLS (AHA approved)
  • DEA registration (physicians and APPs must have their own)
  • APPs must hold Emergency Medicine certification or 5+ years of Emergency Department experience

    • Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency care for Veterans, including life-threatening and urgent conditions
  • Perform evaluations, resuscitations, and stabilizations
  • Manage trauma, cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric emergencies
  • Conduct minor and major procedures (suturing, intubation, chest tube, central line, etc.)
  • Supervise APPs and review inpatient admissions
  • Communicate with referring physicians and coordinate patient care
  • Maintain documentation and compliance with VA and ACEP standards

    Services must meet or exceed standards set by :

  • American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM)
  • American Board of Osteopathic Emergency Medicine (ABOEM)
  • ACEP, SAEM, and AAEM
