Key Account Manager
The Key Account Manager (KAM) is an individual contributor who plays a pivotal role in driving strategic growth and advancing customer success. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing global account strategies for a defined portfolio of high-value customers. As the primary liaison between Phoenix Contact and its strategic clients, the KAM builds long-term, trust-based partnerships that deliver mutual value and sustainable revenue. By shifting relationships from transactional to strategic, the KAM directly impacts customer retention, satisfaction, and profitabilityensuring Phoenix Contact remains a trusted and indispensable partner to its most valued clients.
This is a remote role but must live in area listed on posting.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement business strategies and measurable objectives (MBOs) within assigned accounts, with limited guidance.
- Facilitate the execution of strategic account plans in alignment with Phoenix Contact's global and regional goals.
- Lead and participate in key account teams to analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate account strategies.
- Ensure incremental and consistent improvement in the execution of key account strategic plans.
- Manage key account project transitions and coordinate responsibilities among U.S. Sales Subsidiary personnel and key account team members.
- Participate in project teams initiated by the CKAM PMO, as needed.
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key customer stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between assigned customers and Phoenix Contact.
- Represent Phoenix Contact to customers and advocate for customer needs within the organization.
- Communicate effectively across the U.S. Subsidiary, Global Headquarters, U.S. Services, Regional Business Units (RBUs), and other subsidiaries on matters related to assigned accounts.
- Align account activities with U.S. Subsidiary, U.S. Services, and D&M teams.
- Lead the development of customer presentations and proposals, leveraging support from relevant divisional resources.
- Communicate global and national pricing strategies and coordinate channel partner integration as needed.
- Assist in the coordination of international sales credit requests.
- Develop content for promotional initiatives tailored to assigned accounts.
- Create, publish, and manage internal communications to share key account insights across the Phoenix Contact organization.
- Maintain a strong technical and application knowledge of Phoenix Contact products and solutions.
- Attend training courses to support account strategy execution and individual development plans.
- Develop and maintain proficiency in R3 / BASE systems.
- Contribute to the cohesiveness and performance of key account teams.
- Drive financial performance of assigned accounts, both domestically and globally.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of reports and documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to business process enhancements.
- Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in alignment with corporate principles and strategic imperatives.
- Build mutually beneficial relationships focused on cooperation, information sharing, and support.
- Gain alignment for win-win solutions that address stakeholder needs.

Qualifications
Minimum of three years Sales experience or Industry experienceBS or equivalent industry experience3-5 years successful professional experience in developing relationshipsPractical experience with implementing and facilitating business deals operationallyProven record of accomplishment in developing industry knowledge, strategy, and planningProficiency in German language preferredPolished presentation skills a MUSTOutstanding written and verbal communication skillsSuperior organization, time management, and analytical skillsProficient with a computer and Windows based applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Orientation towards goal achievementEssential Job Functions
You must be able to travel by airplane.Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate an automobile for up to six hours at a time.Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
