EHS Specialist

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for the implementation management and continuous improvement of occupational safety industrial hygiene emergency response contractor management waste and environmental programs at the Veolia site in Addison IL. The position is responsible for ensuring that the site activities are compliant with regulatory and Veolia requirements.

The EHS Specialist will work closely with all site teams and personnel to identify risks within the chemical

manufacturing and associated operations and develop and implement mitigation strategies. The position will also collaborate heavily with Veolia corporate EHS teams.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

• The EHS Specialist will provide direction and assistance to the work groups to meet assigned objectives. The position will work within defined parameters to make decisions apply concepts to issues of moderated complexity and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
• Act as the sites first point of contact and technical expert on all matters related to EHS including regulatory compliance Veolia programs and industry best practices.
• Provide leadership technical support training and project management for the development of plant-wide EHS programs and annual plans.
• Initiate and influence integration of related policies and practices into plant operations and work closely with all employees to harmonize them with shop floor activities.
• Manage the following EHS programs and processes for the Addison site

Compliance tracking and regulatory submittals

Compensation - The salary range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles.  The range is

not an absolute but a guide and offers will be based on the individual candidates knowledge skills

experience and market conditions as well as internal peer equity.  Depending upon all the preceding

considerations for the final selected individual candidate the offer may be lower or higher than the

stated range :  $70000-$80000 USD
