Computer Science Adjunct Faculty
Teach (in person) introductory Computer Science courses or specialized upper level Computer Science courses, such as Computer Architecture and Operating Systems. At Bethel, we offer classes that are 1, 2, or 4 credits. Adjunct load will vary based on capabilities of the Adjunct Professor and needs of the department. We pay $1,250 per credit hour for in person courses. Responsibilities include preparing course materials, coordinating with department faculty as needed, conducting and overseeing all class activities, administering assessments, providing feedback to students, and submitting final course grades to the University Registrar. Skills include clear and well-organized oral and written communication of Computer Science concepts. Supportive mentoring of undergraduate students is also required. Experience preference given for teaching at the undergraduate level within an institution of higher education. Relevant industry experience for specialized upper level courses is also preferred. Education : A Master's degree or Doctorate in a computing-related area strongly preferred; a Master's degree in a different field with at least 18 credits of graduate-level work in computer science will also be considered.
