Engineer
Bowhead Operations Maintenance Solutions seeks multiple Engineers to work, on a part-time on-call basis, onboard government vessels out of Naval Station Pearl Harbor (Honolulu, Hawaii).
Responsibilities
The Engineer will supervise and perform maintenance on all engineering, deck, fire-fighting and emergency equipment. Must have experience in routine vessel operations PLUS the following :
- Routine engineering operations
- Experience in supervising and maintaining preventive maintenance system documentation and history
- Preventative / corrective maintenance to engineering equipment
- Deck repairs and modifications
- Shipboard safety measures (firefighting, basic first-aid and emergency shipboard systems) Primarily day work (home at night, 80 %), Monday-Friday with occasional weekend harbor work
Qualifications
Licensed USCG Designated Duty Engineer (DDE) for Motor Vessels of 1000 horsepower with experience in routine operation, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and repairs of shipboard systems. with STCW 95 endorsement.TWIC (Transportation Worker Identity Card), current.Military experience is a PLUS.Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contactsStrong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a teamPhysical Demands :
Must be able to lift up to 50 poundsMust be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of timeMust be able to twist, bend and squat periodicallySECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS : Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Public Trust level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Public Trust clearance at this location.
