Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Truss & Lumber Associate to support daily operations in a lumber yard or truss manufacturing environment. This role may involve production, yard work, or design tasks depending on experience and facility needs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and capable of working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Assembly
- Assemble roof trusses, floor trusses, and wall panels according to specifications
- Measure, cut, and prepare lumber using hand tools, power tools, and saws
- Ensure all assemblies meet quality and structural requirements
- Follow production schedules and maintain efficient workflow
Yard & Material Handling
Load, unload, and organize lumber and building materialsPull and stage materials for production or customer ordersOperate forklifts, saws, and other equipment safely (training provided if needed)Maintain a clean, organized yard and work areaShipping & Inventory
Prepare finished trusses and materials for deliveryAssist with inventory counts and material trackingEnsure correct labeling, bundling, and loading of productsDesign & Planning (If applicable)
Use truss design or CAD software to create accurate structural layoutsInterpret blueprints, specifications, and building plansCommunicate with contractors, builders, and internal teams to ensure design accuracyRequirements
Previous experience in truss manufacturing, construction, carpentry, or lumber yard work preferredAbility to lift 5075 lbs and perform physically demanding tasksComfortable working outdoors or in warehouse environmentsBasic math and measurement skillsAbility to read blueprints is a plusComputer skills and experience with design software (for design-focused roles)Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and a commitment to safetyIND2
