Our client is currently seeking a Manager - Payroll Systems

About the Role

As a Payroll Projects & Systems Manager, you'll lead cross-functional initiatives to optimize payroll and timekeeping systems, drive process innovation, and ensure compliance with evolving regulations. You’ll partner across HR, Finance, Legal, and Tech to deliver scalable, high-impact solutions that support our global workforce.

Responsibilities

Lead Payroll Systems Strategy & Execution

Own end-to-end delivery of payroll and timekeeping system implementations, integrations, and upgrades (., ADP Vantage, Kronos).

Reimagine payroll processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across federal, state, and local jurisdictions.

Translate business requirements into technical specifications and execution plans.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Payroll, HRIS, Legal, Finance, and Field teams to ensure seamless data flow and system integrity across platforms (., Workday, Kronos).

Prioritize competing technology initiatives and co-develop a strategic roadmap with Payroll leadership.

Project & Program Management

Manage project lifecycle : scope definition, documentation, testing, data migration, cutover planning, and launch.

Communicate project status, risks, and milestones to stakeholders across technical and business teams.

Utilize tools like Jira and ServiceNow to document workflows, use cases, and product requirements.

Team Leadership & Development

Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Provide thought leadership in payroll and timekeeping technology, challenging the status quo and driving innovation.

Operational Excellence & Compliance

Support payroll operations with creative, scalable solutions that enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Perform other duties as needed to support the team and function.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience

4–6 years of experience in payroll systems and project management

Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll tax and compliance

Hands-on experience with Kronos and ADP Vantage

Technical understanding of payroll system configuration and integrations

Proven people leadership experience

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project planning tools (., Jira)

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive alignment
