Manufacturing Engineer 1st Shift – Space Hardware, Project Kuiper Manufacturing-Integration

Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast affordable broadband to a wide range of customers including consumers businesses government agencies and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

This position provides manufacturing engineering ownership of integrated and tested assemblies for the project Kuiper satellite program. You will be supporting the production and testing of satellite assemblies.

Key job responsibilities

• Troubleshoot production issues in a timely manner
• Support and manage daily production operations and eliminate blockers and / or part shortages
• Work with cross functional teams to solve production issues
• Provide design for manufacturability feedback and drive positive continuous change to hardware
• Work with process quality and design engineers to continuously improve manufacturing processes

A day in the life

A Manufacturing Engineer in this role will be supporting the technician team by resolving any obstacles and working with responsible engineers to disposition non-conformances. This individual will work closely with engineering teams in specifying and building or procuring tools and line equipment for Kuiper hardware builds. The successful candidate has some basic experience in supporting production of space hardware through development QTP (qualification test procedures) and flight hardware ATP (acceptance test procedures).

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $86900 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $185000 / year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
