    • Program Overview :
    • As a classroom BEACON teacher, you will deliver instruction to each child in the classroom in alignment with their instructional plan. Each classroom consists of approximately five students who receive a mixture of whole-group instruction and small-group instruction based on their unique learning needs. A teaching assistant assists the teacher throughout the day with differentiated instruction and one-on-one student support. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with your peers as well as with the student’s family.

    • Key Responsibilities :
    • Instruction :
    • Plan and deliver personalized instruction tailored to the unique needs of each student in the classroom in alignment with his or her personalized Academic Plan.
    • Collaboration :
    • Collaborate with teacher assistants, the speech language pathologist, and other support staff to ensure holistic support for each student.
    • Behavioral Support :
    • Implement and monitor behavioral strategies to create a supportive and structured classroom environment that promotes positive behaviors and social interactions.
    • Individualized Academic Plans :
    • Develop, along with the Head of School, implement, and regularly update Academic Plans for each student, ensuring alignment with their specific goals and needs.
    • Assessment :
    • Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress, adjust instructional methods as needed, and provide detailed reports on student achievements.
    • Communication :
    • Maintain open and effective communication with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to support student progress and well-being.
    • Professional Development :
    • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education, speech support, and behavioral interventions.

    • Requirements
    • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
    • Valid teaching certification, special education preferred but not required.
    • Experience working with students with speech and / or behavioral disabilities, preferably in a self-contained classroom setting.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
    • Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with students with special needs. xklufbp

      Pay : $47,000.00 - $57,000.00 per year
