Parasitology Lab Aide (Overnight)

Work Shift : Monday - Friday with alternating Saturdays from 11 : 00pm - 7 : 30am.

This is an On-Site role based out of our Laboratory in Orlando, FL.

The Target Pay for this position is $17.00 an hour. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.

Job Purpose / Overview

The Parasitology Laboratory Aide is responsible for the collection, processing and preparing of fecal samples.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required. • Collect fecal specimens from login, scan into loads, and prepare for set up.
• Meet all minimum department requirements for para loads and Fcombo set-up rates.
• Accurately building loads and label processing tubes
• Split specimens for Giardia ELISA when required
• Find missing specimens. Print and reconcile queue list
• Maintain organization of storage refrigerator
• Maintain all equipment including hoods, centrifuges, etc.
• Awareness of quality control and calibration
• Crosstrain and develop knowledge of multiple specialties within department / lab.
• Follows applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), including safety and quality procedures.  Maintains clean and organized work area.  Restocks supplies as needed
• Participates in improving lab efficiency, quality, and cooperation.
• Consult with senior peers on non-complex Parasitology tasks to learn through experience.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
