General Surgical Pathologist

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated General Surgical Pathologist to join our pathology practice in Arizona. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing a wide variety of surgical pathology specimens and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary medical team. Key Responsibilities
Provide accurate, timely diagnosis and reporting of surgical pathology specimens from a variety of organ systems.
Examine gross and microscopic specimens and integrate findings from ancillary studies such as immunohistochemistry and molecular pathology.
Participate in intraoperative consultations (frozen sections) and rapid diagnostic assessments.
Collaborate with clinicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to provide diagnostic and prognostic information that supports patient management.
Attend and contribute to tumor boards and multidisciplinary case reviews as needed.
Maintain high standards of quality, documentation, and compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements (, CLIA, CAP).
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support new assay development or validation as applicable.
Education Requirements
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic & Clinical Pathology.
Experience Requirements
2–5 years of post-residency experience in general surgical pathology preferred; however, newly trained pathologists with strong training and references will be considered.
Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing a broad range of benign and malignant surgical specimens.
Familiarity with current diagnostic tools including immunohistochemistry and molecular testing.
Licensure & Certification
Board certification or board eligibility in Anatomic Pathol ogy or Anatomic & Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology (ABP) .
Eligible for or currently holds an unrestricted Arizona medical license .
Preferred Qualifications
Subspecialty fellowship training in areas such as gastrointestinal, breast, gynecologic, or genitourinary pathology is a plus but not required.
