Materials Test Engineer

Our client is seeking a Materials Test Engineer to assist their team. This role requires a hands-on Materials Test Engineer with strong problem-solving skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a results-driven mindset. You’ll work in a collaborative lab environment to test and validate materials and mechanical performance for innovative footwear products.

This role is fully onsite in Beaverton, Oregon.

Materials Test Engineer Responsibilities

  • Perform standard materials and mechanical tests on footwear products.
  • Review, analyze, and interpret test data; prepare clear reports and communicate findings to cross-functional teams.
  • Support senior engineers on testing projects, provide training in areas of expertise, and recommend improvements to testing protocols or lab equipment.
  • Partner with product creation teams to ensure product quality and performance standards are met.

Materials Test Engineer Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with universal test machines.
  • Strong background in product / materials testing and statistical data analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to translate technical details for non-technical audiences.

    • Preferred Skills

  • Footwear or apparel testing experience in a lab environment.
  • Mechanical Engineering background.
  • Self-starter who thrives in an independent, proactive role.
  • Familiarity with CAD or biomechanics knowledge a plus.

    • Compensation : Up to $40 / hr. (DOE)
