GENERAL SUMMARY / OVERVIEW STATEMENT :
The position is for a Clinical Research Coordinator I (Computational Research Coordinator) in the Resilient Brain Lab at Massachusetts General Hospital Stroke and Neurocritical Care Research Center. The Center is one of the largest and most prolific stroke research centers in the country employing a diverse team of researchers managing novel clinical trials in cerebrovascular diseases as well as (inter)national networks to advance research in cerebral small vessel disease.
This position is based at the MGH Stroke Research Center under general supervision of study Principal Investigator, Dr. Markus Schirmer. As part of the research group, the incumbent will work in a highly integrative clinical research environment in the area of stroke and cerebrovascular disease. The job will focus on computational support of neuroimaging analysis operations cerebrovascular disease in the context of ongoing studies of acute ischemic stroke. This individual will be responsible for computational support of brain imaging data analysis operations. These activities will be regularly supervised and will provide an opportunity for developing an independent mentored research project or future collaborations.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Assist in validation and integrity checks of collected imaging data
Assist in processing collected data using existing and newly developed programs
Test, document and maintain programs for data retrieval, processing, and content management of images and metadata in conjunction with senior research coordinators
Write clean, reusable code that is well-documented
Attend weekly and monthly departmental, project- and job-specific meetings
Communicate progress of work regularly with project staff, faculty, fellows and / or external agencies
Participate in scientific collaborative projects within the scope of the position and research mission
SKILLS / ABILITIES / COMPETENCIES REQUIRED :
Ideal for motivated individuals with a technical background who have an interest in clinical research

EXPERIENCE :
Experience of programming or scripting in computational or data sciences, including experience with Linux operating systems and Python coding, and basic familiarity and comfort with shell scripting desired.
Knowledge of signal & image processing are pluses.
