Responsibilities :
- Be responsible for various manual tasks such as digging trenches, unloading building materials, and preparing job sites with use of hand tools like shovels, rakes, and picks
- Perform fiber blowing operations as directed, assisting in the installation of fiber optic cable in conduits using fiber blowing equipment
- Conduct general labor on construction sites
- Conduct placement of conduit as directed by Foreman or Supervisor
- Be involved in map reading and directions
- Support with trench digging and closing
- Support with the movement of materials and vehicles as directed by Foreman or Supervisor
- Conduct maintenance services as directed by Foreman to include : cleanup, wash vehicles, landscaping
- Perform all duties according to prescribed safety procedures and uses appropriate safety equipment
- Be involved with vehicle and equipment operations from trucks to other equipment as directed and certified
- Tow various trailers with flatbed trucks
- Conduct aerial / underground work as needed and directed and as trained
- Troubleshoot RF and fiber line and or equipment issues
- Construct and repair underground RF and Fiber service
- Learn how to read and construct from a design schematic of map
- Learn all inventory and equipment required for these projects
- As applicable, learn and be certified on the use of equipment : line truck, bucket truck, cable reel equipment, saws and drills
- Climb poles with climbing equipment safely
- Move and relocate RF and Fiber service
- Be familiar with NESC (National Electrical Safety Commission) safety guidelines
