Schedule / Hours : Full-time evening shift with 8 or 10-hour shifts. This position includes weekdays with on-call responsibilities, primarily overnight and 1 or 2 weekends of call in a typical 8-week scheduling window. Be prepared for varying call hours and ensure a 30-minute arrival time when on call.
Key Responsibilities :
Ensure a clean, safe, and efficient operating area to optimize patient care by utilizing aseptic techniques in preparation for surgeries.Assist in various surgical procedures while maintaining a basic knowledge of each.Ensure environmental disinfection and efficiency of the operating room.Function as a Second Assistant as necessary.Communicate concerning any equipment or supply issues promptly.Transport patients and manage equipment and supplies as required.Maintain specialty carts, ensuring all items are well stocked and functional.Position and transport patients with proper technique.Adapt care based on the individual needs of diverse patient populations.Licensure, Certification, and Education :
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required within 6 months, unless otherwise determined.Completion of an accredited program in Surgical Technology is required.Experience :
No prior experience is required for this position.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Aseptic techniques and operating room equipment knowledgeExceptional customer service and interpersonal skillsBasic computer proficiencyMaintain annual educational requirements for hospital-based certificationsPhysical Requirements :
Ability to perform in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.Lift up to 50 lbs., carry up to 40 lbs., push / pull with 30 lbs. of force, and perform other physical tasks as needed.Required to wear personal protective equipment and adhere to safety protocols.Must have functional sight and hearing and be able to work various positions throughout the shift.This job description offers a general overview of the responsibilities and requirements.
