Sign-On Bonuses :

  • $10,000 sign-on bonus eligible with distance-based relocation.
  • $2,000 sign-on bonus for evening shifts at Aurora St Luke's Medical Center.

    • Schedule / Hours :

    Full-time, evening shift with 8 or 10-hour shifts, Monday-Friday, plus on-call rotation (5-8 overnight call slots and 1-2 weekend call slots in an 8-week scheduling window).

    Major Responsibilities :

  • Ensure a clean, safe, and efficient environment that promotes optimal patient care.
  • Utilize aseptic surgical techniques in the preparation and maintenance of the surgical area, instruments, and supplies.
  • Set up the operating room for each procedure and operate various equipment as needed.
  • Assist the surgical team as a Second Assistant when required.
  • Notify staff of equipment and supply issues to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Transport patients and / or supplies with a focus on safety and protocol.
  • Maintain specialty carts and ensure all instruments are in working order.
  • Provide appropriate patient care considering age-specific needs.

    • Licensure / Certification Required :

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 6 months.

    • Education Required :

  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.

    • Experience Required :

  • No prior experience required.

    • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

  • Understanding of aseptic techniques and operating room equipment.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Must manage a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • Able to lift and move patients and equipment as required (up to 50 lbs and perform transfers with assistance).
  • Exposed to various hazards and required to wear protective gear.
