Roadway Lighting / Illumination Engineer

GFT is seeking a Roadway Lighting / Illumination Engineer to join our Building and Places Team! This role follows a hybrid work model at either of our New York, NY, Mechanicsburg, PA, Baltimore, MD, Philadelphia, PA, Fairfax, VA, East Brunswick, NJ or Washington, DC offices.

What you’ll be challenged to do :

You will be part of the electrical design group responsible for the analysis and design of electrical lighting systems related to, but not limited to, facilities, utilities, and infrastructure. Project types include private / public facilities, local county and city agencies, local DOT (Department of Transportation) jurisdictions within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and surrounding states.

As a Highway Lighting / Illumination Engineer , you will assist in the development of calculations, reports, code analysis and design documents in highway, tunnel, exterior lighting and electrical design. Calculations will include feeder / branch circuit design, voltage drop, lighting / photometrics, grounding and other calculations related to the design and analysis of electrical lighting systems. Design documents include specifications, calculations, site drawings, sectional views, electrical details and energy code compliant analysis.

Other responsibilities will include, but not limited to :

• Perform site survey of existing conditions.
• Review Submittal
• Respond to RFI’s
• Develop project specifications and cost estimates for construction.
• Coordinate work with other disciplines (architectural, civil, bridge, highway / roadway, during the design process.
• Develop Final record drawing at the completion of projects.
• Provide support during construction activities as needed.
• Participate in meetings with clients, government agencies, utility companies and project teams.

Compensation :

The salary range for this role is $100,000 -$150,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.

Salary Range : $$100,000 -$150,000

Salary dependent upon experience and geographic location
