Posting Summary Functional Position Title STAFF SCIENTIST OR SENIOR STAFF SCIENTIST Position Number Appointment Type Regular Location-City New Orleans School / Division MEDICAL SCHOOL Department Center of excellence-Neuroscie Position Summary The Neuroscience Center of Excellence is seeking a Staff Scientist or Staff Scientist Senior, depending upon qualifications. Successful candidates should have a PhD or equivalent degree and must be able to work independently and will be responsible for studying Imaging, immunocytochemistry, single cell genomics / epigenomics, and dry eye in animal models. Prior research experiences in imaging, immunocytochemistry, molecular biology, epigenetic regulation of gene expression and bioinformatics, is highly desired. The team member will be expected to perform team-based science research. Incumbent will design, organize and conduct highly specialized and advanced experiments using established scientific protocols and procedures and in some cases design new protocols; prepare and submit manuscripts, grant applications, and present data in lab meetings, seminars, and at national scientific meetings; assume general responsibility for scientific operations of the laboratory; participate in the training, supervision and guidance of junior technicians, students and postdoctoral fellows.
