As Controller you oversee company accounting, reconciliations, and financial statement production. Work directly with CFO and external CPA, financial institutions, insurance agencies. Manage work in process reports, year-end taxes, quarterly reports and oversee project profit / loss tracking. Manage GL issues with AR / AP and all aspects of invoicing and collections. This position is eligible for Remote / Hybrid work.

Main Role & Responsibilities :

  • Supports the innovation of the design and building process to identify financial growth opportunities
  • Work with accounting team on day-to-day operations, audit transactions related to the general ledger, receivables, payables, job costings and payroll
  • Maintain and perform skilled reviews of Work in Progress reporting and revenue recognition
  • Extract data from the accounting software to provide detailed and relevant reports
  • Prepare and process financial statements with external partners for regulatory reporting, such as the CPA, Banks, and Insurance agencies.
  • Oversee and executive month-end close activities in collaboration with Accounting Manager
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, including cash flow, ratios and trend analysis
  • Manage tax planning, property sales and asset management
  • Oversee monthly general ledger entries and account reviews and reconciliations
  • Assure compliance and establish internal controls and policies
  • Collaborate with the CFO, CEO and COO on company's financial strategy and planning
  • Collaborate with the Design and Build teams on best practices related to accounting functions
  • 4 Year Degree in Accounting from an Accredited institution
  • 5+ Years of experience in finance management, ideally in construction industry
  • Experience leading a staff of accounting professionals
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting software (preferably Viewpoint / Vista / Trimble)
  • Familiar with construction processes in relation to project set-up, change orders, billing and closeout
  • Service oriented; driven to provide excellent service throughout the organization
  • Skilled ability to manage tasks and conflicting priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to meet daily, weekly, and monthly reporting deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
