Job Summary
This position is essential in administering respiratory care treatments to patients as per physician's orders and departmental policies. You will have the opportunity to work independently within various acute and critical care environments, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare personnel to enhance patient outcomes. We offer various sign-on bonuses for eligible full-time positions : $7,500 for Direct Care Respiratory Therapists with one year of experience ($5,000 for those with less than one year). Accountabilities
Supervisory / Management Responsibility
This position does not have management responsibilities and will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Graduation from a respiratory therapy program accredited by the American Medical Association or a recognized accrediting authority, or eligibility for licensure in South Carolina, or a senior student graduating in the next 3 months.
Required Certifications / Registrations / Licenses
Must be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in South Carolina or be eligible for such licensure, with BLS certification required. NBRC credentials must be maintained. For employees hired prior to June 2016, certification as a Certified Respiratory Therapist is acceptable. Those hired from June 2016 onward must pass the Registered Therapist exam and the Clinical Simulation Exam within six months of graduation; failure to do so will result in termination.
Completion of NRP and PALS is required for work in the Children's Hospital, specifically the NICU and PICU.
Other Required Skills and Experience
Effective teamwork, strong communication skills, and proficiency in both computer and organizational tasks are essential.
