Dairy Manager

Primary responsibilities

• To initiate and / or make recommendation regarding the hiring firing discipline promotion and evaluation of all Dairy Department personnel. To orient and train all new Dairy Department employees and retrain employees when necessary.
• To develop a weekly labor schedule for all Dairy Department employees for the approval of the store manager.
• Maintain company standards for perishables and stay up to date on all active safety procedures
• Transportation and stocking of goods within department
• Ensuring Health and Safety Codes checking for pricing and expiration and maintaining an organizational standard area.
• To check record and retain cooler / freezer temperatures and maintenance
• To follow the weekly display plan for case merchandising and ad promotion.
• Stay up to date and in congruence with Health and Safety standards as well as holding a working knowledge of cleaning supplies and various chemicals and machines within the department
• To order all dairy products and supplies from authorized vendors to minimize out-of-stocks while maintaining the desired bakery turns
• Ability to comprehend and provide complex verbal instructions and descriptions concerning store policy and procedures and usage of equipment.
• To supervise / perform organize the cooler / freezer / preparation area for receipt of merchandise verify the merchandise against the invoice inspect the delivery for shortages / damage and quality sort cases for stocking or product preparation and code-date all case items in the cooler / freezer.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED : Dairy Department Manager reports directly to the Store Manager.
