Nursing Assistant / Certified Nursing Assistant / Float Pool / Full-time

Description POSITION SUMMARY : Under the direction of the nurse, performs basic patient care related tasks that contributes to the maintenance of a safe and comfortable patient environment. Requirements DUCATION : High school graduate or equivalent. Successful completion of Nursing Assistant course within one year. CERTIFICATION / LICENSES : BLS certification required. Specialty certifications as required by each unit. SKILLS : Must be able to pass skills competency checklist as required by each unit. Must be able to read, speak and write English fluently. EXPERIENCE : Six months in a healthcare related field preferred. NATURE OF SUPERVISION : -Responsible to : Director / Manager, Nursing Unit ENVIRONMENT : - Bloodborne pathogens - B Works irregular hours. Multiple simultaneous activities around patient care. Exposure to infectious diseases and x-rays. Subject to varying unpredictable situations. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Must be able to handle emergency / crisis situations, prolonged, extensive or considerable standing / walking. Has knowledge of and uses good body mechanics. Frequently lifts, positions, pushes and / or transfers patients or equipment. Hearing and visual acuity within normal limits. Manual dexterity and fine motor coordination required.
