Position Summary :

As an Emergency Department Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), your primary responsibility is to provide direct patient care in the emergency department setting reporting to the registered nurse and physicians.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Assist with triage and assessment of patient's gathering data and prioritizing their care based on the severity of their injuries or illnesses. This involves taking vital signs, conducting interviews, and gathering relevant medical information.
• Medication Administration : Administering medications including oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intravenous medications as prescribed by the physician and ensuring accurate documentation of medication administration.
• Wound Care : Providing initial wound care and assisting with procedures such as suturing, wound dressings, and splinting.

Intravenous (IV) Therapy : Initiating and maintaining intravenous (IV) access for patients requiring fluid and medication administration.

Using hospital and regulatory standards of care, the LVN demonstrates sound clinical judgment in assisting with evaluation of the nursing aspects of the trans-disciplinary care plan. In conjunction with the patient / family and the registered nurse, the LVN participates in
