Senior Technician - Reliability

Location : San Jose, CA

Duration :

6 Months+ possible extension

Shift : 0

7 : 00 AM – 04 : 00 PM or 08 : 00 AM – 05 : 00 PM Monday through Friday

Pay : $48 hourly

Job Description :

Day to Day Responsibilities :

  • Developing and / or executing experiment / test plans regarding product performance and reliability
  • Optimizing and / or maintaining tools and equipment in accordance with the needs of product development and testing
  • Utilizing manual dexterity to prepare and / or build specimens and device prototypes for testing
  • Interfacing with the broader S&T organization and business to generate and / or characterize specimens, to interpret or expand test results, and more
  • Recording, logging and reporting out on observations and test data, and presenting associated conclusions and next steps to customers / stakeholders
  • Working with others to identify needs and procure items including samples, consumables, new test fixtures or equipment, etc.

Education and Experience (minimum required for consideration - this is REQUIRED) :

  • A.A.S. / Two-Year Degree in Mechanical Technology or related field of study

    • Required Skills (These are skills that candidates MUST possess) :

  • Mechanical aptitude in working with small powered and / or non-powered hand tools, as well as larger test / metrology equipment
  • Tear-down and post-mortem characterization experience including practical use of optical and SEM microscopy.
  • Experience working with glove-box and clean-room settings.
  • Basic computer and data analysis / archiving skills, including familiarity with programs such as Microsoft Office, web-based work request systems, etc.
  • The ability to maintain an accurate and thorough record of activities performed, including via a laboratory notebook.
