Manager, Technical Accounting

Technical Accounting Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Accounting professional to join our global accounting team. In this role, you will work collaboratively with colleagues to evaluate and advise on the accounting implications of complex or unusual transactions. A key focus will include reviewing various commercial agreements (programming content, agreements for software, services, etc.) to assess accounting treatment in accordance with US GAAP and other applicable frameworks. Another key part of this role is to maintain and update accounting policies and document accounting conclusions in memorandums.

Core Responsibilities include :

• Manages, plans, organizes and coordinates activities of Accounting staff.
• Ensures accurate and timely reporting and analysis of financial data in accordance with generally accepted accounting principals.
• Monitors and develops procedures to accommodate operational and policy changes.
• Manages and oversees ongoing internal audit inquiries and external audit processes.
• Ensures adherence to corporate policies regarding internal controls.
• Reviews monthly balance sheet reconciliations prepared by Accountants and / or Supervisors and instructs Accountants to make necessary changes and advises on adjusting entries as needed.
• Review and analyze contracts (e.g., customer agreements, vendor contracts, leases, intercompany transactions, and M&A deals) to identify accounting considerations.
• Research complex accounting issues and prepare technical accounting memos and white papers with well-supported conclusions.
• Provide guidance and recommendations on accounting treatment for new or non-standard transactions across global entities.
• Keep current on new accounting pronouncements and guidance to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Monitor and assess the impact of new accounting standards and global regulatory changes and support implementation efforts.
• Contribute to the development and global rollout of accounting policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including functional accounting, legal, FP&A, procurement, operations and international and domestic divisions to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Work closely with external auditors during audits and technical discussions.
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education : Bachelor's Degree (Required) While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.

Certifications (if applicable) : Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Relevant Work Experience : 5-7 Years
