Job Title : Report Analyst

Classification : Non Exempt

Reports To : Director of Merchant Services

Pay scale : $37.00 - $42.00

Position Overview : The Report Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the Merchant Services department by delivering accurate, timely, and actionable data analysis and reporting. This role involves the collection, validation, and interpretation of data related to vendor performance, promotional effectiveness, product mix, pricing, and other merchant-related KPIs. Reporting directly to the Director of Merchant Services, the Report Analyst will provide insights to support decision-making for procurement, category management, and strategic planning across all grocery and non-grocery categories.

Essential Responsibilities :

  • Develop, maintain, and distribute recurring and ad hoc reports for all functional areas within Merchant Services (e.g., category management, vendor relations, promotional planning).
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, variances, and opportunities to improve product performance, margin, and efficiency.
  • Work closely with Category Managers to support planning cycles with sales, margin, and performance insights.
  • Design and automate dashboards and visual reports using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker) to drive data-driven decisions.
  • Monitor vendor compliance with performance metrics and service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Collaborate with IT, finance, and supply chain teams to ensure data integrity and consistency across systems.
  • Present findings and recommendations to the Director of Merchant Services and cross-functional leadership teams.
  • Maintain documentation and process guides for reporting procedures and data sources.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in a data or report analyst role, preferably within retail or grocery industry.
  • Proficient in SQL and Excel; experience with data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate complex data in a clear, concise, and actionable manner.
  • Familiarity with retail metrics such as sales, gross margin, shrink, inventory turnover, etc.
  • Experience working with ERP or merchandising systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NCR, or similar) is a plus.
  • Required Education and Experience :

  • Experience in grocery retail reporting or analytics.
  • Knowledge of promotional planning cycles and vendor rebate programs.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Physical Demands :

  • Will be required to sit and use office equipment and computers.
  • Will be required to travel in vehicle to commute to company locations; overnight stays may be needed.
  • Will be required to stand and walk throughout the work shift with some bending, standing, squatting, climbing to conduct inspections in the stores and in various cold and hot temperatures.
  • May also have to do some light lifting, up to 40 lbs. of supplies and materials from time to time.

    This is management, exempt level position, with a 5-day work week, but flexible schedule as required to get the job done.
