Job Summary :
The Transplant Quality Analyst RN is responsible for prioritization, development, implementation, assessment, interpretation and improvement of data related to the Transplant Department at Erlanger Health System.
o This requires an understanding of relevant data being collected in hospital computerized medical records and other relevant systems and understanding effective ways to extract needed data.
o This may include developing, maintaining, and / or auditing external logs and data collection tools, as needed.
o This may also include developing and / or maintaining balanced scorecards and dashboards and coordinating data across multiple sources or platforms.
Education : Required :
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in an analytical field or Nursing. Strong related experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree. Critical thinking skills and strong interpersonal skills. Must possess the ability to assess and analyze complex problems and be able to draw conclusions and make recommendations. Strong technical ability in basic business software such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations. Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information or issues in a confidential and respectful manner. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines. Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization. Knowledge of principles and practices of customer service and telephone courtesy. The ability to defuse stressful situations.
Experience : Required :
At least 2 years' analytic experience, including extensive use of software such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, SPSS, SAS, R Programming, or other related programs.
Preferred :
If non-nursing education; 1 or more years of experience in a healthcare environment.
A strong renal clinical knowledge and background are preferred. Understanding of kidney transplantation; with two years or more experience appropriate to transplantation. Experience in organ call. Bilingual skills are a plus. Quality background in transplant.
Additional skills such as, but not limited to computer science, accounting, finance, public health, economics, engineering, or a bio-statistics related field.
At least three years of general nursing practice; knowledge of organizational functions, policies, and regulations; knowledge of current trends and new developments, principles and practices of nursing.
Position Requirement(s) : License / Certification / Registration
Required :
Current RN licensure to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee. BLS completed prior to going to the unit / department and maintained going forward.
The Nurse Licensure Compact will not change how to obtain or renew a Tennessee license. However, the Tennessee nursing license will be a single state license for Tennessee Residents or non-compact state residents. Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents.

The Transplant Quality Analyst RN must be able to communicate effectively and professionally and ensure that appropriate process, outcome, and balancing metrics are collected and communicated in an effective and timely manner to the relevant internal customers.
