Position Summary
The Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining and optimizing core IT infrastructure, implementing new solutions, deploying hardware and software, and contributing to IT strategy. Reporting to the Vice President of IT, this role will play a pivotal part in ensuring operational efficiency, system security, and long-term scalability.
Key Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure & System Administration
- Maintain and support servers, applications, end-user devices, and operating systems
- Perform routine server administration (user / group management, group policies, print services)
- Monitor system health, respond to event log warnings / errors, and ensure performance stability
Project Leadership
Lead and contribute to IT projects that align with business strategyDeploy new software / hardware and support data center initiativesCollaboration & Support
Partner with internal teams and external vendors to share project status and support IT initiativesProvide Tier II / III technical support and assist the help desk with root cause troubleshootingNetworking & Infrastructure
Maintain servers, routers, switches, firewalls, LANs / WANs, and network systemsOversee internet, intranet, and other key network infrastructure componentsAudits & Compliance
Conduct system audits, review backup processes, and ensure data integrityMaintain filing systems and uphold strict confidentiality and data security protocolsTravel Requirements
Must be flexible and able to travel throughout the company’s service area with short noticeOccasional overnight stays required, averaging 50% of the work scheduleQualifications
Proven success in an IT role with strong hands-on technical experienceDeep knowledge of :Windows and Unix systems administrationActive Directory and group policiesEnterprise backup and recovery toolsSystem monitoring tools and performance tuningNetworking protocols and infrastructureFamiliarity with cloud environments, especially Microsoft AzureExperience in project management and application integrationAbility to troubleshoot complex distributed systemsBachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field preferredProfessional certifications in relevant IT disciplines a plusPhysical & Environmental Requirements
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and 50+ pounds occasionallyMust be able to sit, stand, walk, talk, and use hands to operate office equipmentMay be exposed to chemical vapors (e.g., acetone, ether, glutaraldehyde); PPE providedNo exposure to bloodborne pathogens in this roleWhat We Offer
