Qualifications and requirements Applicants should have a current state LPN license from an accredited nursing school and can practice as an LPN per the Virginia Department of Health guidelines. Additional requirements include :

Basic Life Support certification is required.

PALS if applicable.

Department / Unit Summary

Under the supervision of a registered nurse, provides direct patient care within the defined scope of practice, assisting with assessments by collecting data and performing care interventions such as wound care, specimen collection, and possibly medication administration. Supports patients with daily living activities and incorporates psychosocial, spiritual, and cultural needs into care. Documents and communicates patient status and responses to care, and acts as an advocate for the patient’s physical and emotional well-being.
