General Description
The Student Accounts Representative plays a pivotal role in providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to students and families regarding financial matters. This position involves managing student accounts, assisting with billing inquiries, processing payments, and ensuring accurate record keeping.
Essential Functions
Student Account Management : Maintain accurate and up-to-date student financial records in compliance with institutional policies and regulations.
Billing Assistance : Address billing inquiries, explain charges, and assist students and families in understanding their financial obligations.
Payment Processing : Receive and process student payments, ensuring accuracy and timely application to accounts.
Financial Counseling : Provide guidance on payment plans, scholarship disbursements, and financial aid options to help students make informed decisions.
Communication : Correspond with students, parents, and relevant campus departments through email, phone, and in-person meetings to address concerns and provide support.
Conflict Resolution : Handle student account disputes and billing discrepancies with diplomacy and professionalism.
Data Entry and Reporting : Accurately input financial transactions into the system and generate reports as needed for internal and external stakeholders.
Regulatory Compliance : Stay informed about relevant federal and state regulations pertaining to student accounts and financial transactions.
Collaboration : Collaborate with colleagues in the finance, registrar, and financial aid offices to ensure seamless student services.
Process Improvement : Contribute to the enhancement of student account processes and suggest improvements to streamline operations.
Other duties as assigned : The Student Accounts Representative may be required to perform additional tasks as deemed necessary by their supervisor or institution.
Work Experience & Education
Education : High school diploma required; degree in finance, accounting, or a related field preferred.
Experience : Three (3) years of related work experience in finance, accounting, or a related field.
