No If Restricted Position, please paste statement Departmental Objective Facilities Management is responsible for maintaining campus buildings utilizing the carpentry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC trades as well as housekeeping and floor maintenance. Purpose of the Position This position will oversee the Facilities Management budget tracking and accounting, data analytics, procurement management and compliancy. This position will work with the Director to provide data analysis and reports and ensure quality assurance, training, compliance and database management. Provide support for the department supervisors. Acts as liaison between the Facilities Management Department and Procurement, Business Office, other University Offices and private sector vendors. Provides leadership to the Department related to procurement procedures and assist with the planning, organizing, coordinating and oversight of the business operations. Functions in accordance with established Facilities Strategic Plan, and University Mission.

This is a designated position and reports as directed during emergency closings. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Related to Position Required :

  • Knowledge of accounting practices.
  • Ability to analyze trends from data and manipulate databases.
  • Ability to prepare and analyze budgets.
  • Ability to train Facilities Management staff on budget and purchasing principals and best practices.
  • Ability to provide instructions on how to use the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Ability to maintain confidentially.
  • Skilled in organization and detailed oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member; ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies, including faculty, staff and vendors; excellent written, verbal and analytical skills; proven ability and interest in solving complex problems.
  • Excellent skills with computers, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Ability to write technical procurement documents (Scopes of Work for RFP, IFB, etc.)

Preferred :

  • Possesses the knowledge of the responsibilities and operations of a Facilities Management Department.
  • Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required Education Required :

  • High school graduate or equivalent education / experience that equates to a high school diploma
  • Experience Required :

  • Computer, database and spreadsheet experience
  • Progressively responsible experience in budgeting, accounting, purchasing and analysis
  • Additional Consideration(s) Education Preferred :

  • Associate, Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree.
  • Virginia Contracting Associate (VCA) certification. Virginia Contracting Officer (VCO) certifications.
  • Experience Preferred :

  • Experience with facility computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Experience working in a customer service environment.
  • Experience with using the Commonwealth of Virginia’s procurement system eVA.
  • Experience with writing Scopes of Work (SOW).
