The Intermediate Designer / Job Captain at Barcelon Jang Architecture is experienced in a fast-past environment working on a variety of projects and works well with architects and supervising designers.
The Intermediate Designer will primarily support Project Architects in developing project documents throughout bidding, design and construction, providing input to the design and construction schedule, overseeing of the drawings and specifications including program compliance, code and agency compliance, schedule commitments, product research, organizing and directing the architectural team, and providing support to ensure successful completion of each project.
Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or construction science / construction management, preferably in the U.S.Experience with personnel supervision, construction document preparation and construction administration3-7 years of professional experience working in an architectural firm on medium-size projectsExperience with the preparation of presentation and construction drawingsExperience working directly with and reporting directly to a Project ArchitectExperience supervising or managing one or more design staff at an architectural officesExperience coordinating with clients, developers and consultants such as engineersKnowledge of local ordinances, building codes, and ADA requirementsStrong interest in affordable housing and modernization projectsExperience with sustainability in design desirableProficient in Revit, AutoCAD – knowledge of Sketchup, PhotoShop, and InDesign desirableExperience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Demonstrated experience working under tight deadline pressureExcellent communications skills, both verbal and writtenExceptional organizational skills, strong problem solving ability, and detail orientedThis is an exempt position, and may be full- or part-time.
