About the Position
The Foundation for Teaching Economics (FTE) is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Manager, Planning + Outreach . This full-time role plays an essential part in the planning, coordination, and promotion of FTE’s flagship program, Economics for Leaders , as well as other student and teacher programs throughout the year.
The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 1–2 years of experience in office administration, event or program coordination, or marketing communications. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional eager to grow their skills in nonprofit education programming and contribute to a mission-driven team. The Manager will report to the Senior Director, Planning + Outreach and collaborate closely with colleagues across the organization.
Prior experience with youth-focused programs or professional development events is helpful but not required.
Key Responsibilities
Program Planning + Logistics
- Coordinate logistics with university and venue partners : book housing, meeting rooms, catering services, AV equipment, and campus access needs
- Plan off-site excursions for student groups in cities across the country—balancing budget, safety, and educational value
- Assist in preparing and managing program budgets, submitting check requests, reconciling invoices, and supporting financial reporting
- Support staff and faculty on-site with planning documentation, shipping needs, and general logistics
Marketing + Communications
Serve as a primary point of contact for program participants and their families, responding to inquiries and managing communications leading up to each eventMaintain and update program-related website content throughout the yearWrite copy for blog posts, outreach materials, and web / print publicationsSupport the development and implementation of marketing strategies to increase program awareness and enrollmentOffice + Administrative Support
Assist with front-line communications by answering phones and responding to general email inquiriesSupport staff with clerical tasks, ordering supplies, and maintaining inventoriesAssist with shipping and logistics for events and other organizational needsJump in as needed to support various projects and initiatives across the organizationPreferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience in event coordination, marketing, or program support (internships or part-time roles with significant responsibility considered)Strong writing and editing skills; professional experience with copywriting or marketing communications is a plusSolid proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Adobe Creative Suite, CMS platforms, or CRM tools is a bonusExcellent organizational and project management skills, with strong attention to detailAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentFriendly, collaborative attitude and willingness to take initiativeBachelor's degree preferred; equivalent work experience will be consideredInterest in economics, education, or nonprofit work aligned with FTE’s missionPersonal Attributes

Salary range : $50,000-$60,000 annually depending on experience
