Forensic Nurse (On-Call)

The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE)responds to victims of sexual assault as referred by Palm Beach County Victim Services and Certified Rape Crisis Center. Provides victim-centered, medically focused patient assessment, forensic evidence collection, management of the sexual assault victim, fact testimony, and interaction throughout the judicial process. Conducts patient history intake; assesses / treats / documents trauma response and injury. Participates in peer chart review, case staffing, staff meetings, and Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) activities.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Associate’s Degree from an accredited school of Nursing; minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).

Necessary Special Requirements : Must possess a valid FL Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) RN License.

PREFERENCE FOR : SANE-Adult / Adolescent training, experience, and / or certification; experience in public health; experience in emergency department, sexual and reproductive education, obstetrics-gynecology / psychiatry.
